GEST 2020 Postponed to September 2-5
Over the last two weeks, there have been several updates from the Centers for Disease Control, World Health Organization, and US & NY Government officials regarding the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Since our initial GEST News post, we are aware of the recent events and have been actively monitoring the status of COVID-19 several times a day within the New York State area.
To ensure the health and safety of our GEST attendees, we have postponed our GEST 2020 conference originally scheduled for May 14-17. The new GEST 2020 dates are September 2-5, Wednesday-Saturday.
The GEST Course Directors reviewed a variety of factors to determine between postponing vs cancelling. GEST provides a valuable opportunity to network with your peers and industry partners in addition to the scientific program for embolotherapy. We wanted to prioritize our attendees for the countless hours spent for submitting abstracts, trainee case competition submissions, and preparing for presentations.
We understand that the September dates may not be ideal for everyone and wanted to communicate the several items were taken into consideration: limited date availability, venue selection, and timing. Since GEST 2020 will end on a Saturday this year, we hope you bring your family and stay to enjoy the weekend.
For already registered attendees, your registration will automatically be transferred to September. If you wish to receive a full refund, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org prior to May 15, 2020. Any existing hotel reservations made under the GEST block at the Sheraton Times Square will automatically be cancelled and will need to be rebooked on our hotel page of our website.
We hope to see you at GEST 2020!
