GEST Statement Regarding COVID-19
Updated: Mar 10, 2020
On behalf of GEST, we wanted to address the increasing concerns around coronavirus (COVID-19). We have been watching the news and assessing the impact on a continuous basis as it relates to GEST 2020.
We are aware of the declaration made by New York State Governor Cuomo on March 7, 2020 and are exploring the potential impact and all options to ensure the safety of our attendees for GEST 2020. At this time, GEST 2020 is scheduled for May 14-17 and will update to any registered attendees, on our website, and social media for any changes as we know more.
As the spread of COVID-19 is changing on a daily basis within different geographies, we recommend reviewing the following websites for updates and travel advisories related to/from New York City:
- Center for Disease Control (CDC) Travel Health Notices
- CDC - COVID-19 Information for Travel
- US Department of State for COVID-19 Country Specific Information
- Office of the Governor of New York State
- New York State Department of Health
- Office of the Mayor of New York News/Updates
If there are any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at news@gestweb.org.
Sincerely,
GEST Course Directors
